Singles retreat open to all denominations
Christian Singles Fellowship of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church offers a retreat for singles of all denominations from Sept. 3-6. The 37th annual program will be held at Jumonville Camp & Retreat Center near Uniontown. For details, call 412-243-8449. Christian Mothers Christian Mothers and Guild of St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, will meet in the school's cafeteria at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1. A Carousel of Costumes will be presented by Beth Steinberg. DivorceCare South Hills Church of the Nazarene, Bethel Park, will offer DivorceCare support group from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning Sept. 7. A video will be shown each week prior to discussion with nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics, including "Facing My Anger," "Facing My Loneliness," "Depression," "New Relationships," "Kid Care" and "Forgiveness." Kickoff Sunday John McMillan Presbyterian Church, Bethel Park, will hold a Kickoff Sunday on Sept. 12. Worship is at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Meet at Fellowship Hall at 9:30 for fellowship and refreshments. Couples are invited to participate from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Workshops, materials and lunch will be provided at no charge. Preregistration is required. Abortion discussed Pittsburgh Area Jewish Committee will begin its free Christian-Jewish Dialogues Series at noon Sept. 2 at the Church of the Redeemer in Squirrel Hill. The topic will be abortion. Conveners include Rabbi Jamie Gibson, Rev. Cynthia Bronson-Sweigert, Father Dan Valentine and Rabbi Michael Werbow. Mother's Day Out St. David Church, Venetia, will open its Mother's Day Out program Sept. 8.
