Capt. Ryan M. Helbling completed his 2nd tour of duty at Manas A.F. Base in Kyrgyzstan. Upon returning to Hulbert Field in Florida, he finished his four-year obligation to the service and returned to Pittsburgh. A Peters Township High School graduate, he works as a project manager for P.J. Dick Corporation and resides in Lawrence. Army National Guard Capt. Christopher B. Bowers is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively. A deputy logistics officer with 14 years of service, he is a member of Headquarters, 28th Combat Aviation Brigade, based in Annville, Pa., son of Sheryl Bowers of Canonsburg and a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. He has a bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University.

Army National Guard Capt. Christopher B. Bowers is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively. The soldiers return to Fort Dix, N.J. for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units. Bowers, a deputy logistics officer with 14 years of military service, is a member of Headquarters, 28th Combat Aviation Brigade, based in Annville, Pa. The son of Sheryl Bowers of Canonsburg, he is a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University.

Army Reserve Pvt. Jorge A. Zarate has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training (AIT). He is the son of Olivia and Jose Zarate of Bethel Park and a graduate of Bethel Park High School.

Air Force Airman Shelby D. Forton has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Forton is the daughter of Kevin and Janet Forton of Pittsburgh and she is also a graduate of Chartiers Valley High School.
