Larissa Fortna, daughter of Julie Dean and John Fortna of Canonsburg and graduate of Peters Township High School, has been selected for membership in Mortar Board, an honor society recognizing seniors for leadership, scholarship, and service skills.

Megan Sherry and Larissa Fortna, both students at Westminster College, recently participated in the 11th annual East Central Colleges Undergraduate Mathematics Competition at Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio.

Sherry, daughter of Roger and Barbara Sherry of Bethel Park. Is a freshman mathematics major and graduate of Bethel Park High School.

Fortna is the daughter of Julie Dean and John Fortna of McMurray. She is a senior mathematics major and graduate of Peters Township High School.

Westminster College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) successfully defended its divisional championship at the SIFE Regional Competition held recently in Philadelphia, qualifying for the May national competition in Chicago.

Local team members included: Stephen Previs, son of Charles and Rose Previs of Bethel Park and graduate of Bethel Park High School; Jeffrey Downey, son of Robert and Maria Downey of Pittsburgh and graduate of Seton-La Salle High School; Jared Foster, son of William and Debora Foster of Pittsburgh and graduate of Seton-La Salle High School.

Tanner Ivol, son of Daniel and Cheryl Ivol and graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, earned a degree in communication studies from West Virginia University recently. He was also named to the dean's list.
