Article reached amateur musicians

To the editor:

Thanks to Lorraine Gregus for her wonderful article about the Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra. We have been besieged with telephone calls since it was printed. Some from people wanting to book the orchestra for appearances; some from people wanting to sell old mandolins and others from people wanting to tell about family members playing the mandolin.

Most importantly, we received calls from amateur musicians, some of whom had played in ethnic bands for years. Those are the people we wanted to reach. They will be joining our group. We owe that to Lorraine.
