Hoagie sale will benefit World Youth Day trip

High School Youth Ministry at St. Patrick Parish in Canonsburg will make and sell hoagies Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4. Italian, roast beef and turkey 15-inch hoagies will be available in the school cafeteria at noon on Saturday. Hoagies will also be sold after all weekend Masses. No need to order in advance.

Proceeds will help defray costs for World Youth Day pilgrims traveling to Australia in July.

Spaghetti dinner

First Presbyterian Church of Finleyville will hold a spaghetti dinner 11:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4.

New members class

Canonsburg U.P. Church is holding open enrollment for new members classes, which will be held during the 9:45 a.m. Sunday school hour May 4, 11 and 18.

Healing meeting

South Hills Assembly in Bethel Park will sponsor a healing meeting led by Ruth Fisher at 7 p.m. Monday, May 5 in the sanctuary.

Couples night out

Peters Creek U.P. Church in Venetia will host "10 Great Dates to Energize Your Marriage" on Saturdays, May 10, 17 and 24 to help couples reclaim the spark, connection and creativity from the days of dating.

This proven program was created by David and Claudia Arp to be low-key, purposeful, effective, easy and fun.

Couples will gather at the church where free childcare will be provided. After a short introduction and discussion, couples will be sent out for their own private dates. The remaining seven dates will be scheduled for the fall of 2008.

Spring fling

Brightwood Christian Church in Bethel Park will hold its "Spring Fling-Pretty in Pink" banquet to honor mothers, daughters, sisters and friends beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, May 5 in Campbell Hall.

The Women's Guild and Christian Mothers of St. Patrick Parish in Canonsburg will host its May banquet Wednesday, May 7 at Rolling Hills Country Club. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by "The Bells of St. Mary's."

Steelers tickets

The High School Youth Ministry at St. Patrick Parish in Canonsburg is sponsoring a raffle of Steelers tickets for the 2008 season. For only $5, ticket buyers have a chance to win two tickets for each game of this year's home season.

Proceeds will help with expenses for high school pilgrims to travel to Australia in July for World Youth Day.

Day of Prayer

In observance of National Day of Prayer, Bethel Park mayor Cliff Morton will welcome local clergy to the Bethel Park Community Center at noon Thursday, May 1. Moderator will be the Rev. Cindy Richmond of the South Hills Church of the Nazarene.

Speakers will be the Rev. John Baver of St. Germaine Church and the Rev. Brent Olson of Ruthfred Lutheran Church.

Music will be provided by St. Valentine School children and piper Nels Yehnert. Refreshments will be served.
