Pennsylvania American Water lifts conservation requirement

Pennsylvania American Water lifted its mandatory conservation notice for Washington and Allegheny County Sunday, saying power has been restored to the treatment plant serving those customers.

Customers can resume using water for showers, dishwashing, flushing, cooking and drinking, according to a Pennsylvania American Water news release.

The Department of Environmental Protection issued a cautionary boil water advisory to southwestern Pennsylvania residents who experienced a disruption in water service because of the power outages, the release states.
