Tanner Ivol, son of Daniel and Cheryl Ivol and graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, has earned a degree in communication studies from West Virginia University recently. He was also named to the dean's list. The following students have been named to the dean's list at Syracuse University. College of Arts and Sciences: Emily Greeno of Mt. Lebanon; Asher Epstein of Upper St. Clair. College of Visual and Performing Arts: Chad Cable of Mt. Lebanon; Kyle Koontz of Mt. Lebanon; Amanda Varcelotti of Venetia.
Martin J. Whitman School of Management: Jeffrey Simons of Mt. Lebanon; Perry Skoutelas of Scott Township. S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications: Kaitlin Pennington of Bethel Park; William West III of Green Tree; Elsa Buss of Mt. Lebanon. Elysia Tonti, a junior German studies and international relations double major at The College of Wooster and a resident of Upper St. Clair, earned All-American honors at the 2008 American Moot Court Association (ACMA) National Championship, hosted by Drake University Law School recently. She finished in the Top 32 in the Oral Argument competition. Tonti has also been awarded the William I. Schreiber Scholarship, with first preference given to those who are majoring in German or plan to study during their school years in a German speaking country. Ron Tavoletti of Upper St. Clair was recently recognized at Community College of Allegheny County's annual scholarship luncheon for Educational Foundation scholarship donors and recipients. He received one of five $1,000 scholarships by Grainger, a local distributor of facilities maintenance supplies. In addition, Grainger presented the school with a $10,000 contribution to support new technology for the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Program. With a 3.96 GPA, Tavoletti's anticipated graduation date is fall 2008.
Anthony Marcolini, a sophomore at Robert Morris University and son of John and Linda Marcolini of South Fayette Township, was named to the dean's list with a 3.98 GPA and will be recognized at the 38th Annual RMU Awards Ceremony as a recipient of the Dean's Scholar Award. Marcolini is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Sigma Beta Delta, a business honors society.
Gretchen Wilhelm of Upper St. Clair was named to the dean's list at Texas Christian University. Carolyn Brodbeck, daughter of Chuck and Jill Brodbeck, has been name to the dean's list at Colgate University. A graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, she is a political science and German major. Alex Langley, a senior at Gettysburg College, has been named to the dean's list. She is a resident of Upper St. Clair. The following Waynesburg University students have been selected to appear in the 2008 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges: Asha Dean of McDonald; Jennifer Chajkowski, Emily Garrity and Stephanie Gumina, all of Pittsburgh; and Haley Hinds of Moon Township.
