Little Lake auditions
Children and young adults who are interested in participating in Little Lake's Looking Glass Theatre for young audiences may schedule an audition appointment on Wednesday, May 7 or Friday, May 9, 4:30 -6:30 p.m. or Saturday, May 10, 9-11 a.m. Audition appointments made be made by calling Little Lake Theatre, 724-745-6300.
The 2008 Looking Glass Theatre season includes "Granny Applebutter and the Ding Dong Wolf" directed by Little Lake's Artistic Director, Sunny Disney Fitchett; "If You Give a Pig a Party," a musical directed by Stephen Santa; and "The Adventures of a Bear Called Paddington," directed by Jena Oberg. Museum opens
Compass Inn Museum near Ligonier opens for the season on Thursday, May 1. The guided tour with costumed docents includes the inn, cookhouse, blacksmith shop, barn and carpenter's shop. The Country Store is also opened. For details, visit www.compassinn.com
'Goat' auditions
The REP, Point Park University's Professional Theatre Company, is accepting Equity Principal Auditions by appointment for "The Goat or Who is Sylvia?" written by Edward Albee and directed by Rodger Henderson. Appointments will be accepted from noon to 7 p.m. Monday, May 5. Rehearsals begin Oct. 21. Washington Community Arts and Cultural Center's Spring Session will feature "Figure Drawing with Ray Dunlevy". Students will have the opportunity to learn from a master the art and beauty of figure drawing. He will share techniques with beginning to advanced artists ages 18 and up. Slightly younger students may join with permission. Dunlevy is an award-wining artist recognized by WQED for his work in fostering a love for the arts in the region. Stage 62 presents "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde Friday through Sunday, May 9 to 11 and May 16 to 18 in the Andrew Carnegie Free Music Hall in Carnegie. Applications are being accepted for crafters and artists for the second annual Rev Up and Roll Car Cruise and Craft Festival to be held Sunday, June 22 at the Allegheny County Fairgrounds in South Park. Over 15,000 people attended last year's event with over 70 crafters and artists participating. Spaces are filling up fast.
