The 2008 Washington County Sheep Shearing School will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10 at the George Wherry Farm in Scenery Hill.

Pittsburgh Glass Center will sponsor a glass flower-making class 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11. Glass artists will guide participants through a hands-on experience twisting and pulling molten glass and sculpting it into a glass flower.

Horse shoe pitching
