U. S. Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18) will host a congressional field hearing in Carnegie which will bring together local manufacturers, development authorities and members from high technology industries to share the economic success stories that are happening in Pittsburgh. "Envisioning Our Economic Future: A Revitalizing Older Cities Regional Forum" will be held Monday, May 12. The forum will also bring together local job training and labor representatives to discuss the efforts to train and retain a workforce to meet the needs of the region. Testimony will include ways to build the local economy and bring jobs to the area.
Panelists with Murphy representing local business and community leaders will look at building on success and opportunities for the federal government. The hearing will run from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Carnegie Borough Building.
