Here are the finalists for The Almanac Female Athlete of the Year

Award. They will be honored along with MVPs

in all sports at the 18th Premiere Performers All-Sports Banquet. The






banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at the Crowne Plaza,

Pittsburgh South in Bethel Park. Tickets are $30 per person and on sale

STEPHANIE AUSTIN

CANON-McMILLAN F SENIOR

SOCCER/TRACK

* Will play soccer and will major in physical therapy at Farleigh-Dickinson University.

* Four-year letterwinner in soccer and track.

* Ranks 4th in career assists and 10th in career goals in school history.

* Two-time All-Section, Almanac Elite Eleven, honorable mention, and team captain.

* Led team to the playoffs for the first time in 15 years and to team's third best overall record.

* Player of the Year award winner last fall. Extra Effort award winner as a junior. Coaches' leadership award winner in 2005 and Rookie of the Year in 2004.

* Three-year captain for the indoor and outdoor track teams.

* Holds CM school record in the 4-by-100 relay and 4-by-200 relay in outdoor track and 200-meter dash in indoor track. Helped the 4-by-100 relay to a fifth-place finish at the PIAA state championships.

* Maintains 4.2 QPA.

* Volunteers at Canonsburg Presbyterian Church and VBS. Member of Kids For Wish Kids Foundation and Leadership in Action groups at school.

SOCCER/LACROSSE

* Earned lacrosse scholarship to University of Cincinnati.

* Two-time U.S. Lacrosse All-American, honorable mention.

* All-Midwest, first team all-star in 07.

* Two-time, All-WPIAL first team selection.

* MSLA All-Tournament Team.

* Upper Atlantic Team #4, for two years.

* Helped Lebo to WPIAL title in 2006 and runner-up banner in 2007.

* Led Lebo to a third-place finish in the Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Association in 2006. Lebo was the MSLA runner-up last spring.

* Two-time leading scorer for team.

* Fired in 72 goals in 2006 and 68 in 2007.

* Two-time all-section selection and three-year letterwinner in soccer.

* Starting goalkeeper on PIAA state semifinal soccer team.

* Recorded 12 shutouts and allow-ed only 17 goals.

* Led Lebo to a section title and WPIAL playoff appearance.

* Maintains 4.2 QPA.

* Member of the National Honor Society.

SWIMMING

* Two-time Almanac Athlete of the Year finalist.

* 14-time scholastic All-American.

* Will swim and major in journalism at the University of Richmond.

* 2008 state champion in the 50-yard freestyle and 200 medley relay. Seventh-place medalist in the 100-yard freestyle.

* 2008 WPIAL champ in the 50 and 100 free as well as member of gold-medal medley and 200 free relays.

* Helped BP to four WPIAL team titles. Led BP to two state runner-up trophies and one third-place finish.

* Holds 14 BP swimming records.

* Competed in the 2007 Junior Nationals and Short Course Nationals in Atlanta as well as the 2008 Junior Nationals in Orlando.

* Three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

* Three-time Allegheny Mountain Swimming Scholastic All-American.

* Owns a 3.9 GPA; 4.2 QPA for 12th grade.

* National Honor Society member.

* Assists with the 8-and-under group in the BP Swim Club.

* Has PT poised to defend WPIAL lacrosse championship.

* Helped PT to a co-championship in field hockey last fall and 12-5-2 record.

* Led team with 13 goals. Had five assists.

* Four-time gold medalist at 2008 WPIAL championships.

* Won her fourth straight district title in the 200 individual medley.

* Two-time WPIAL champion in the 100 breaststroke, 2007 and 2008.

* Helped BP win four WPIAL team titles and two PIAA runner-up trophies. BP finished third in the state in 2008.

* Two-time 200 IM state runner-up. Member of the state champion-ship 200 medley relay .

* Undefeated in dual meets.

* Two-time Junior National participant.

* Qualifier for U.S. Open Championships, Spring Nationals and Short Course Nationals in the IM and breast.

* Helped PT to district and state playoffs in basketball. PT finished as the WPIAL runner-up.

* Averaged 5.9 points and 7.0 rebounds a game.

* Has 31 career homers, 48 stolen bases and .625 on-base percentage.

* Led team to one state final, three WPIAL and three section titles.

* Four-year member of the SADD and Leo clubs. Served as vice president of Varsity Club.

* All-section setter, second team, as a sophomore. Moved to defensive specialist her junior and senior seasons and led Black Hawks to the playoffs.
