PT quartet medals at internationals
The Foutissimo quartet from Peters Township medaled by placing first among high school-aged competitors and fourth overall in the Rising Stars category at the 63rd Annual Sweet Adelines International Competition.
Members of Fourtissmo are Julia Devine (bass), Chelsea Harmon (tenor), Hannah Hobbs (lead) and Lauren Hobbs (baritone), all seniors at Peters Township High School.
All other medalists were collegiate or under-25 graduate performance squads from Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
Performing for the first time at this prestigious competition, Fourtissmo delivered powerful renditions of "How Many Hearts Have You Broken" and "Pal Of My Cradle Days" to a panel of international judges.
Performances are judged on sound, music, expression and showmanship. Along with their medals and certificates of achievement, members of Fourtissmo were showered with praise and standing ovations from the over 4,000 competitors, their families as well as scores of supporters watching the live international webcast of their performance.
