A 14-year-old Pittsburgh boy steals a car with the key left in the ignition, leads police on a high-speed chase, crashes and ends up in the hospital, seriously injured.

The teen’s mother acknowledges the boy “did bad,” but says the car’s owner is to blame, too, for leaving the key in the ignition.

Come again? How did she foster the kid? Where is the father?
