Getrude Matshe, a Zimbabwean inspirational speaker, African storyteller, poet and author will speak on “The Power of One” at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 17. in the Otterbein Room at Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park.

Described as a vibrant bundle of African energy whose zest and passion for life inspires everyone she meets, Matshe uses her life experiences to help people achieve their full potential and find their individual life purpose.

Married and the mother of three, she claims “living in Africa prepares you to live anywhere,” and traces her earliest years in Rhodesia to her emigration to New Zealand, speaking as “the voice of a typical African woman.” She is a director of three corporations, one of which she is the CEO. Africa Alive Education is a program that provides safe homes and education for children who have lost their families to AIDS.

All are welcome to hear Getrude’s message, “When people do things they are passionate about, magical things happen.”
