Dormont’s Hollywood Theater has released its February film schedule. Highlights include:

The Junior Chamber of Commerce Players – Pittsburgh’s official Rocky Horror shadow cast, will suit up for “Clue,” the 1985 comedy/mystery starring Tim Curry, Eileen Brennan, Madeline Kahn and Christopher Lloyd, at midnight Feb. 2.

The Appalshop Film Series shows “Hazel Dickens: It’s Hard to Tell the Singer from the Song,” 2 p.m. Feb. 9. Doors open at 1 p.m. and Tim and Carolyn, a local bluegrass duo, will play in the lobby before the movie.

At 2 p.m. Feb. 10, the Hollywood will screen “The Freshman” (1925) as part of its monthly Silent Film Series. The silent feature stars Harold Lloyd, considered the “third clown” behind Chaplin and Keaton.

Rolling Stone says the 1995 Jean-Claude Van Damme movie “Sudden Death,” filmed in Pittsburgh, “deserves the hockey-puck booby prize.” That earns it a place in the Hollywood’s So Bad It’s Good Series. At 9 p.m. Feb. 16, Hustlebot – a Pittsburgh comedy troupe – will heckle the movie live. Tickets are $10.

Breakfast and a Movie, sponsored in part by Eljays Used Books, returns 11 a.m. Feb. 17 with John Huston’s 1941 noir classic “The Maltese Falcon,” starring Humphrey Bogart. Kelly James, formerly of Sugar Café, will cater the event. The light breakfast begins at 11 and the movie starts at 11:30. Tickets are $15 at the theater during regular operating hours and at www.showclix.com/events/breakfastandamoviefeb2013. Tickets for the movie only are $7 at the door.

New this month is the Meat and a Movie Series. At 6 p.m. Feb. 17, Cain’s Saloon will provide food and beverages, followed by the 1982 movie “Beastmaster” at 7 p.m. Tickets for the meal must be reserved by Feb. 14 at the theater or at www.showclix.com/event/MeatandaMovieFeb2013. Tickets for the movie only are $7 at the door.

Horror Realm presents a screening of the 2000 horror/comedy “Psycho Beach Party,” 7 p.m. Feb. 20. The movie is a parody of 1950s psychodramas, 1960s beach movies and 1980s slasher films. Doors open at 7 p.m., with music, games and a silent auction; movie begins at 8. Tickets are $10 at www.showclix.com/event/PsychoBeachPartyBenefit, and $15 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Shepherd Wellness Community, a safe, supportive community empowering people affected by HIV/AIDS.

“The Maltese Falcon” will screen again at 2 p.m. Feb. 21, as part of the Hollywood’s monthly Senior Movie Matinee. Tickets are $5 for those age 65 and older. The event is held in partnership with Mt. Lebanon Village. Light refreshments and conversation begin at 1:30. An additional evening showing is 7:30 p.m.

Zombo Presents… returns 8 p.m. Feb. 22 with “Iron Sky,” a 2012 Finnish-German-Australian comic science fiction/action film. Zombo, a DJ at WRCT-FM 88.3 radio, welcomes surf band Vertigo-go, for a tribute to Germans and space. Vertigo-go will perform groovy instrumental versions of German tunes including “Der Kommissar,” “99 Luft Balloons,” “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” and space songs such as “Telstar” and “Journey to the Stars.”

The evening of Feb. 24 is the Hollywood’s Oscar Party. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The $10 ticket price includes theater seating and a small popcorn or beverage; or upgrade for $25 for VIP seating in the balcony with a large popcorn and beverage and other perks. The night will feature games, contests, and prizes. For more information, visit the Hollywood Facebook page, www.facebook.com/HollywoodTheaterDormont or www.thehollywooddormont.org.
