Panelists to discuss national security
Panelists from the United States Army War College Eisenhower Series College Program will be the featured speakers at a program on national security to be offered 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Peters Township Public Library in collaboration with the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh.
The Eisenhower Series College Program encourages dialogue on national security and other public policy issues between students of the Army’s senior educational institution and the public throughout the United States.
• Col. Robert Humphrey, U.S. Army Reserve. Humphrey enlisted as a private in the Army and was commissioned as a field artillery officer. As such, he served in numerous tactical and command assignments, including ones in Panmunjom, Korea and in Germany at the end of the Cold War. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal.
• Lt. Col. Riccoh Player, U.S. Marine Corps. Player initially enlisted and served as an Infantry officer but has spent the past 16 years in various Public Affairs assignments. Player has served in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Allied Force, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. His awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal
• Lt. Col. Douglas G. Vincent, U.S. Army. Vincent was commissioned as an Infantry officer and has spent more than 20 years in various Infantry, Special Operations Forces and Joint assignments. He has deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Additionally, he has deployed four times to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His awards and decorations include four Bronze Star Medals.
