Peters Township was recognized as the No. 1-ranked girls soccer team in the country by MaxPreps, a stat-gathering website for high school sports, Feb. 1 at a pep rally that also included the Army National Guard. The Indians were one of 10 teams across the country to be honored. Peters Township finished 25-1 en route to capturing its third consecutive PIAA Class AAA title, with a 1-0 win over Cumberland Valley at Hersheypark Stadium. MaxPreps uses a computer program to determined its “MaxPreps Freeman Rankings,” which are based on results posted to the site.
