Tara Howard, 36, was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
Police from several departments surrounded a house in the 400 block of Justabout Road in Peters Township at about 2 p.m. after Washington County 911 received a call that someone was shot and bleeding inside. Washington County emergency 911 center then received a second call that the woman who made the call was in Washington.
As police had the home surrounded, the homeowner arrived and told officers that he had received a message on his cellphone from a relative who said she was going to make such a call as a hoax in order to cause the family inconvenience
Howard was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
