Relay For Life of Mt. Lebanon is one of the area’s most popular events, with thousands of people coming together to fight cancer.
But, the renowned June event is not the only opportunity to have an amazing time while raising money for a cause that has touched so many lives.
Relay For Life of Mt. Lebanon is part of two community events, partnering with other local organizations: Mt. Lebanon Winterfest, presented by Mt. Lebanon Partnership, in Uptown Mt. Lebanon Feb. 23, and “Lights! Camera! Murder!” March 9 at the Hollywood Theatre in Dormont.
The second annual Winterfest will be from noon-3 p.m. Feb. 23 in Clearview Common. Tickets are $10 in advance and are available at www.mtlebanon.org or at the gate for $15. Attendees will get to vote in the chili cook-off featuring samples from Cafe io, Bistro 19, A’Pizza Badamo, Walnut Grill, Primanti Bros., Rania’s, Il Pizzaiolo, Mineo’s and more, plus a rematch between the Mt. Lebanon police and fire department chili chefs. Guests 21 and older can sample handcrafted beer by local home-brewers by purchasing an additional $10 tasting pass.
On March 9 at “Lights! Camera! Murder!” guests will partake in what appears to be a typical Hollywood Academy Awards after party, until the cast reveals a homicide and guests are left to connect the clues to discover the murderer. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event starts at 7 at the Hollywood Theatre. Tickets are $15 in advance at www.showclix.com/event/3737432/ or $20 at the door. Prizes will go to best costume and best actor.
This year’s Mt. Lebanon Relay for Life is June 15. For more information, visit www.relayforlife.org.
