The Bridgeville Public Library Board of Directors has decided to reopen the library on Mondays, effective March 4. The board took into consideration feedback from patrons and determined that it is the best move for the library.

Cash flow continues to be an issue, but the board hopes new fund raising strategies and the backing of the community and businesses will support the reinstatement of Monday hours.

Effective March 4, the library hours will be Monday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday 1 p.m.-8 p.m.; Wednesday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursday 1 p.m.-8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The library is closed Sundays.

A pancake breakfast will be held from 7 a.m.-noon March 10 at McDonald’s. The event will benefit the Chamber of Commerce. For more information, call the chamber at 724-745-1812.

Cecil Township

Currently there are six ZIP codes in Cecil Township and having that many ZIP codes within one municipality can create problems for residents, businesses, and emergency service providers. Because ZIP codes are often not aligned with municipal boundaries, millions of Americans have mailing addresses in neighboring jurisdictions.

If you would like to support Cecil Township in its quest to create a uniform ZIP code, please sign the electronic petition found on the township’s website. Your support will be recorded in township offices. Green Tree
