Administration involved in ridiculous issues
Most people are aware of the administration edict that we will have to start replacing our incandescent light bulbs with those pricey, high-tech lamps.
But how many are aware that the administration is engaged in a catfight involving Earnest Hemingway’s six-toed cats? The cats are descendents of Snowball, a polydactyl cat, given to the late novelist when he lived in Key West, Fla.
About a half-hundred live at the Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West and are as much a tourist attraction as the author’s personal effects.
However, a neighbor considered them a nuisance, wanted the six-toed creatures to go, and took the complaint to Washington. After a decade of legal wrangling, a federal court has sided with the administration’s command: Comply with a plethora of controls or get rid of the cats.
What decree will the administration think of next? Putting limits on the number of jelly beans we put in our Easter baskets?
