The Bethel Park Lions Prize Party will be held beginning at 6 p.m. March 9 at the Bethel Park Community Center.
Tickets are $50 with a $1,000 grand prize. There will be a buffet, dessert, cocktails and beverages, plus prizes.
All proceeds from the party support the club’s charitable activities.

• A scholarship established in memory of his late wife, Jenny Morgan, was increased to $600 this year for students planning on attending a nursing school or study in another health-related field, according to James Morgan. The scholarship is available for students who attend Bethel Park and Baldwin high schools.
Morgan is a resident of Bethel Park and is a retired English teacher from the Baldwin School District. Applications may be obtained in the guidance office in each high school. Deadline to apply is April 14 in Bethel Park, and in early April in Baldwin. Money for the scholarship was received from donations in lieu of flowers following Jenny Morgan’s death, and from continuing contributions. McTeacher Night at McDonald’s will be held from 5-8 p.m. March 14. Middle school teachers taking orders from the counter and drive through will be Mr. Rush, Mr. Cloonan, Mr. Dominick, Ms. Clawson, Mr. Marion and Mr. Faith. Proceeds benefit the middle school band.

• Canonsburg General Hospital is in need of extra adult hands to help with greeter positions, the Snack Shop and the emergency room. Shifts are four hours each. Applications may be filled out online at www.wpahs.org/cgh or may be picked up in the Snack Shop at the hospital.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 2 p.m. March 23 near the concession stand in Cecil Park. Sign in and the Easter Bunny arrival begins at 1 p.m. The hunt is for ages up to 8 with special raffle baskets and prizes. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Registration is free by calling 724-745-2227 before 4 p.m. March 18. Bring a basket to collect the eggs.
Collier Township’s seventh annual Keep Collier Beautiful clean-up day will be held April 20.
Participants will meet at 9 a.m. on the lower level of the municipal building, 2418 Hilltop Road, rain or shine. Doughnuts and drinks will be served. Gloves, trash bags, safety vests and Keep Collier Beautiful T-shirts will be distributed. Participants will be driven to assigned work areas and returned to the municipal building at noon. A light lunch will be served along with a raffle including two Penguin tickets with parking pass for the April 27 game. Pirate tickets and a number of gift cards will also be raffled.
Keystone Oaks High School’s Environmental Club is sponsoring an electronic recycling event from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. March 16 in the Keystone Oaks Middle School parking lot adjacent to McNeilly Road.
The Environmental Club is partnering with Commonwealth Computer Recycling to offer district residents the opportunity to dispose of unwanted technology at no charge.
Hard drive data destruction for $10 per hard drive will be provided on site.
The event is a fundraiser for the club, as Commonwealth Computer Recycling donates money raised from the event to participating schools.
Older televisions, computers, monitors and printers and other items are slated for destruction.
The Green Tree Woman’s Civic Club’s annual $1,000 scholarship is open to any Green Tree student who has already completed one academic year of college.
Applications for the 2013 scholarship are now available at the Green Tree Municipal Center, the Green Tree Public Library or online through a link on the municipal website, wwwgreentreeboro.com.
The McDonald Area Redevelopment Association (MARA) is always looking for new members. Business owners and residents are welcome to attend meetings at 6 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the McDonald Trail Station.
Earth Day in Mt. Lebanon is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 27 in Mt. Lebanon Park. Fun for the entire family will include demonstrations, games, food and music. Earth Day is now managed by the Mt. Lebanon Environmental Team. To learn more about the team, visit www.lebogreen.org.
Earth Day planning meetings are during the Environmental Team meetings held the first Thursday of every month. The next meeting is at 7:30 p.m. March 7 at Uptown Coffee.
