Relay for Life needs supportPublished Apr 17, 2013 at 10:54 am (Updated Apr 19, 2013 at 11:15 am)
We need your help! For over 12 years, the American Cancer Society has held a Relay for Life behind South Fayette High School. When it began, there were approximately 20 teams participating. This year, we only have six teams, who put their hearts and souls into raising money to help the Cancer Society find a cure for cancer. However, this may be the last year for the Relay unless these communities show their support.
This year’s Relay is May 18 and 19. It starts at 1 p.m. on May 18 and goes until 7 a.m. on May 19. I understand that everyone has busy lives, but if you could spare one hour of your time to show these teams that you care, it would really boost their morale and mean so much for the fight against cancer. Please help us to keep the fight for a cure alive in your communities.
My team became involved when a beautiful person with this disease asked us to help her take on the fight of this terrible disease. This person’s name was Susan McAndrew. Although Susie lost her battle with cancer, her spirit continues to live on in our team and keeps us fighting even when it seems people have given up. This is where you can help! Please keep the relay alive for Susie and others who have lost their battle with cancer, and for the ones still battling and winning their fight.
