The authors of “Food Lovers’ Guide to Pittsburgh” will be on hand to sign copies of the book at Tanger’s Taste and Style Gourmet Food Truck Experience.
With its first Taste and Style event being such a success, Tanger Outlets is hosting a second Taste and Style Gourmet Food Truck Experience 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 3-4.
The weekend provides an opportunity for people to enjoy local gourmet-style food from several of the most popular mobile food trucks in the region. Menu items will include specialty sandwiches and wraps, organic selections, vegan specialties, international flavors and sweet treats.
“We had an overwhelming success with this type of event earlier in the year,” said Jodi Dague, Tanger’s general manager. “We know the community loved it, so we wanted to have it again during our back-to-school shopping season.”
As of press time, participating mobile food trucks include: Bella Christie & Lil’Z’s Sweet Boutique, Dozen Bakery, Lomito’s Truck, Moore’s Hot Dogs, Oh My Grill, PGH Crepes, PGH Pierogi Truck, Randita’s Grill and Street Foods.
Other vendors include: Penn Brewery, Greenhouse Winery, J & D Wine Cellars, BBQ Stu’s and Millers Mustard.
The “I Made It Market” will feature a marketplace with nomadic Indie crafts, artisans and gourmet food specialty vendors that are unique to the area. Macaroni Kids, a popular family-focused website and newsletter, will host a “Kids Kitchen Kreations” area from noon-3 p.m. both days, where children can use their imagination to create a fun, unique chef’s hat.
And, the authors of “Food Lovers’ Guide to Pittsburgh” will be on hand for a book signing noon-2 p.m. Aug. 3. The highly-acclaimed book guides readers’ appetites through neighborhoods identifying the best foodie locations for local dishes.
There is no cost to attend the event. For more information, visit www.tangeroutlet.com/pittsburgh.
