Once again, St. Clair Hospital was named one of the top 100 hospitals in the country by Truven Health Analytics, formerly a division of Thomson Reuters.
“St. Clair Hospital is honored to be included in this elite group of hospitals,” said Michael J. Flanagan, senior vice president and chief operating officer. “This award is a reflection of the dedicated work and commitment to excellence shared by our medical staff, employees and volunteers. And to again be recognized as a 100 Top Hospital during St. Clair's 60th anniversary year makes it extra special for everyone.”
Truven Health Analytics annual 100 Top Hospitals study uses objective public data to recognize the best hospitals in the nation. The study identifies the best values in American health care through evaluation of hospitals on measures of clinical outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction and clinical efficiency. The annual study is in its 20th year and evaluated 3,000 acute-care hospitals across the country.
Hospitals do not apply, and winners do not pay to market the honor.
Other notable hospitals from the nation that are 100 Top Hospitals include Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C.; Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.; and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, La.
St. Clair Hospital is an independent acute care facility that provides high-quality health care to more then 500,000 residents in Southwestern Pennsylvania, and employs more than 2,200, making it the largest employer in the South Hills. More than 550 physicians are on staff.
