County Parks host basketball camps
The Allegheny County Parks Department has announced that it will host “Play Well Allegheny Basketball Camps” in Boyce Park, August 7-9, and in South Park, August 11-13. Each three-day camp is open to all children ages 10-15 with separate divisions for boys & girls. Camps will meet daily 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on outdoor courts with a lunch break at noon. Campers should bring their own lunch. The registration fee for each camp is $40 per child and includes a T-shirt and daily pool pass.
“We're fortunate to have Craig Prosser serving as our camp director and head coach,” said County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. “Not only is Craig a current AAU basketball coach, but he is also a former NBA draft pick and player at Robert Morris and Canisius College. In fact, his amazing skills and abilities landed him in the Robert Morris Sports Hall of Fame, and he earned an honorable mention on the Canisius College All-Century Team. Craig has put together a great team of local coaches and players with experience in the NCAA and WPIAL. Campers will learn basketball fundamentals, improve their skills, run through drills and have lots of fun.”
Registration & payment must be made in advance in person at the administration buildings in Boyce Park, North Park or South Park, or in Room 211 of the County Office Building located at 542 Forbes Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh.
