Two people were hurt after the sedan they were riding in crashed through a wall after going over a hill.

The 87 year-old driver and a 45 year-old passenger, both male, crashed through the wall of an All State Insurance branch in the Scott Towne Center around 9 a.m. Aug. 1 after the vehicle went over a nearly 50-foot hill. “The driver was going about 10 miles per hour in a parking lot above the business, when, due to a medical event or him just losing control, he accelerated, drove up and over a curb, through a fence, and then down over the hill,” Scott Township police officer Shawn Kosanovich said. Both men sustained injuries at the scene and were transported to a nearby hospital.

Kosanovich said the driver was banged up but had no discernable injuries at the scene, while the passenger had a contusion, as well as cuts to his face and was bleeding.

The rear entrance door to the business was destroyed as well as the surrounding concrete. No other injuries were reported.
