BP students earn awards

Three Bethel Park students earned three awards at the Family Career and Community Leaders of America’s (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference, which was held recently in Atlanta. Rising freshman Anayah Hunter (center) earned a Gold Award in the Food Innovations category for her project, “We All Scream for Juniper Berry Ice Cream.” Rising sophomore Alyssa Vetere (right) received a Silver Award in the Recycle and Redesign category for her project, “Trashin’ to Fashion.” Rising eighth grader Mia Geudtner (left) received a Bronze Award in the Recycle and Redesign category for her project, “Denim to Décor.” The students qualified for this competition by earning awards at the FCCLA State Competition, held in the spring. The students were prepared for this competition by Independence Middle School Family and Consumer Science Teacher Heather Fontana.
