Violet Cumpston – 100 years

Violet Cumpston, formerly of Bethel Park, celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family at a gathering held at Baptist Manor in Mt. Lebanon. She was born Aug. 29, 1918, and graduated from Carrick High School at age 15. She and her husband built a house in Bethel Park, where they raised their children while both working full time. An expert seamstress, Violet worked many years at Sew & Sew at Ruthfred Acres in Bethel Park. She also served as an extra in the movie “Love & Other Drugs” and last year, served as a model in the senior fashion show held at the Galleria of Mt. Lebanon as part of the Baptist Homes Society Health & Wellness Fair.
