Senior luncheon

Mt. Lebanon Recreation will offer a holiday party on Dec. 19 for senior citizens and their adult guests (Mt. Lebanon residency not required), at the Rec. Center, 2nd Floor, Room A. Check-in at 10 a.m. at the Rec Office. There will be entertainment by “Tracy Lee the Ukulele Lady” at 11 and a hot buffet lunch and 50/50 raffle at noon. A movie will follow from 1 to 3 p.m. Bring a new pair of socks for the homeless and two-dozen cookies for the cookie table. Fee of $6 is due by Dec. 15. Walk-ins are not encouraged and will only be accepted if space permits (a late fee will be charged). For more information, call 412-343-3409.

Holiday party

The Residence at Logan in Bethel Park will hold a “Home For the Holidays at the Residence at Logan” holiday party from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 16. Stoney Richards from KDKA Radio will be broadcasting live from the event, which will include a hot chocolate bar and visit from Santa Claus. RSVP to rsvp@residenceatlogan or call 412-835-9500.

Seniors lunch

The annual Chanukah Seniors Lunch will be held at noon on Dec. 19 at the South Hills JCC, 345 Kane Blvd., Scott. The event will include a Chanukah program, kosher lunch with hot latkes and music. Suggested donation is $5. Registration is suggested; call 412-278-2658 or email barb@chabadsh.com.

Retired Men

The Retired Men’s Luncheon Group will meet on Dec. 21, at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road. The Thomas Jefferson High School Jazz Band will perform. Lunch will be served at noon at a cost of $8, payable at the door. To reserve lunch, call 412-655-2000.

TOPS

Enjoy contests and speakers while losing weight for $5 per month with TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 75. The group meets from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at Carnegie Retirement Residence, Railroad Avenue. Weigh-ins at 6 p.m. For more information, call Francis at 412-818-7489.

Dormont AARP

Dormont AARP #3015 meets the second Thursday of each month throughout the year at Unity Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Road. All seniors age 55 and older and new members are welcome. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. A meeting follows at noon. Activities include entertainment, speakers, pancake brunch, covered dish dinner, annual picnic, fundraisers and travel opportunities. Pickleball

The Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park, Upper St. Clair, offers beginner pickleball play from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, and intermediate/advanced pickleball play from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. To learn more, contact the C&RC at 412-221-1099.

Chair exercises

Chair Exercises for Seniors takes place from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at Scott Township Library. To register, call 412-429-5380.

Theatrical-minded seniors

Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members age 50 and older are needed. For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com.
