1. The Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Ave., Carnegie, will serve a free Christmas Day dinner from 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 25. Shut-ins who live in the neighboring areas are encouraged to call 412-276-0366 by Dec. 20 to place a dinner order, which will be delivered free.
2. Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will present its fourth sensory-friendly performance of “The Nutcracker,” adapted for patrons with special needs, at 2 p.m. Dec. 26, at the Benedum Center. The performance features extra support and adaptations for people with sensory sensitivities, autism spectrum disorders and other special needs. 3. Each year, the Mt. Lebanon Community Relations Board honors a resident who has volunteered his or her time giving back to the community in ways that make a real difference in the quality of life here and throughout the region. 5. Beginning Jan. 1, Upper St. Clair residents must get sanitary sewer lateral inspections and dye tests before selling their homes. First, call at 412-831-9000 to get forms prepared. Visit the Public Works office at 1751 McLaughlin Run Road to pick up forms and maps. Sanitary sewer lateral inspections: Homeowners must hire a National Association of Sewer Service Companies-certified contractor to conduct a video inspection. Return video and form from contractor and a $25 check to the Township Tax Office, 1820 McLaughlin Run Road. Dye test: A registered plumber must perform the dye test.
