BP students recognized

Five Bethel Park High School students were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in its 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Senior Grace Evans (second from left) was named a semifinalist. She is among the top 16,000 high school seniors who scored high enough on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) last year as a junior, to earn semifinalist status in this program, which will award 7,500 National Merit Scholarships in the spring.
To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship award, Grace must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition.
Achieving commended status in this program were seniors Evan Aronhalt (left), Emily Clarvit (second from right), Elise Bermudez (right) and Emily Cowser (not pictured), who graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2017 a year early and now attends Messiah College. They are among the 34,000 students who earned high scores on the PSAT/NMSQT.
