The Silk Farm, formerly the location of the Wabash Round House, is one of the oldest settlements in the area. The Silks purchased the farm from the American Indians around 1800. Left behind was an infant boy, later named Tom, who was raised by the Silks with their other children. Tom later married and raised his own family in Carnegie. Reprinted from Images of America: Carnegie by Sandy Henry for the Historical Society of Carnegie (Arcadia Publishing, 2006).
