By 1930, the Pennsylvania Training School (originally named the Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza and later known as Western Center before its closure in 1999) sprawled nearly 1,000 acres, and approximately 800 boys and girls lived there. The school had reached its highest population. In addition, a new administration building was opened. The estimated value of the property at this time was $3,534,598.
