Garage sale

The Women of St. Benedict will hold its “Gigantic Garage Sale” Aug. 16-18, at St. Benedict the Abbot Church located at 120 Abington Drive, McMurray. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. A variety of special sales will take place on Friday and a $5 bag sale will be held on Saturday. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds benefit St. Benedict the Abbot and Women of St. Benedict activities and charities.

FUNDRAISER

Flood relief festival

The Bethel Park Flood Relief Family Fun Festival will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 12, at Independence Middle School. The event will include food trucks, vendors, raffle baskets, a kids zone, live entertainment and more. Proceeds will benefit the Black Hawk Family Relief Fund, which has been established for the victims of the recent flooding. Sponsorship opportunities and vendor booths are still available. Skating charity show

The Western Pennsylvania High School Figure Skating Team’s 4th annual “Skating around the World” charity show will be held on Aug. 12, at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, 8000 Cranberry Springs Drive, Cranberry Township. The ice show begins at 4 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door beginning at 3, at a cost of $10 per person. Family discounts are available, and children ages 5 and under will be admitted for free. Pre-show activities will take place from 3 to 4 and will include card making for patients, raffle baskets, 50/50 raffle, food and bake sale, and photos with Iceburgh. Free concerts

Peters Township Parks and Recreation presents Township Road at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Peterswood Park Amphitheater. The free concert will feature country music and a food truck. On Aug. 15, New Vintage Big Band will perform at 6:30 p.m. at the amphitheater. The free concert will include a gourmet popcorn vendor.

Dinner for a Dollar

Community of Christ Church, 3472 South Park Road, Bethel Park, will offer Dinner for a Dollar from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 9. The menu will include spaghetti, bread and rolls, garden salad and desserts. Film

Alternative Content presents “You’ll Love Pittsburgh!” at 8 p.m. Aug. 11, at 241 E. Main Street, Carnegie (formerly the home of The Flying Squirrel). This tribute to America’s most livable city as seen through the lens of various filmmakers over the last 6 decades includes promotional films, documentaries, rare footage and more screened from 16mm prints. Doors open at 7 p.m. for audiences to explore other formats of media including slide shows, stereo views and film strips. General admission is $7 and $5 for JCT members. Concert in Courtyard

Mt. Lebanon Public Library presents the Olga Watkins Trio at 7 p.m. Aug. 9, as part of its Concerts in the Courtyard series. The Pittsburgh-based band, best known for its Steelers fight song “Drink up Yinz,” combines original soul, blues, funk and jazz to create their own style. In case of inclement weathers, the concert will be moved indoors.

Live theater

The Heritage Players will present “The Wizard of Oz, Junior” Aug. 10-12 at The Seton Center, 1900 Pioneer Avenue, Brookline. Free concert
