FUNDRAISERS
Ronald McDonald House
Bethel Park High School DECA is asking Bethel Park students and the South Hills community to help change a child’s life by supporting a program called “Pulling for the Ronald McDonald House.” Through Jan. 15, 2019, collect and save pull tabs from any aluminum can. Place the tabs in a Ziploc plastic bag and deliver them to any BPSD building. Collected tabs will be brought to a local recycling center where they will be weighed and redeemed for cash per pound. One hundred percent of the dollars raised from the redeemed pull tabs will be put into the direct operations of the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh.
Library fundraiser
Tickets are now on sale for Mt. Lebanon Public Library’s 9th Annual Brews for a Chili Night IX, set for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 26, at the library. The beer and chili fundraiser will feature live music, more than two dozen craft beers, cider, soft drinks, a wide array of chili prepared by pro and amateur chefs, snacks and desserts. RML Jazz, led by Rick Laus, will perform during the event. All-inclusive tickets are $35 per person, available at the library’s front desk or online at www.mtlebanonlibrary.org/chilibrews. The number of tickets is limited, and won’t be sold at the door. Those wishing to donate more can purchase $50 sponsorship tickets. Lottery calendar sale
Saint Elizabeth Elementary School is holding two fundraisers. 2019 Lottery Calendars. are $30 with daily payouts of $50, nine days with a payout of $100, and two days at $150. Winners are determined based on the evening PA Lottery Pick 3 number- straight hit, first draw only. Holiday concert
The Harmony Singers of Pittsburgh will present the holiday concert “Holiday Memories” at 7 p.m. Dec. 18, at Brightwood Christian Church, 5044 West Library Avenue, Bethel Park. Refreshments will follow the concert. A basket raffle and a holiday cookie sale will also be included. The concerts are free, but a free-will offering to benefit the Harmony Singers will be accepted. Free Christmas dinner
The Church of the Atonement, Episcopal located at 618 Washington Avenue in Carnegie will offer a free Christmas Day dinner and open dining room with local delivery to shut-ins on Tuesday, Dec. 25. Deliveries will be made between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The dining room will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. with Christmas carols and full table service. Walk-ins and reservations are welcome. This year’s menu will include roasted pork, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, apple sauce, buttered rolls and a variety of desserts. To place an order for home delivery (due by Dec. 20) or to make a reservation for seating at the event, call Megan at 412-531-1978. Each year the church serves more than 200 free hot meals.

Steel City Death Club presents The Fuzz War featuring Fortune Teller vs. Ugly Blondes with special guest Pachyderm on Dec. 21 at The Smiling Moose, East Carson Street, Pittsburgh. Doors open at 6 p.m. The show begins at 6:30. This is an all ages event.
