A $500 scholarship, funded by the drivers and bus attendants of Upper St. Clair (not the transportation department), is being offered to any Upper St. Clair High School senior who plans to further their education at a trade school or college. To qualify, students must fill out an application and write an essay about their adventures in riding an Upper St. Clair school bus. Applications are available through bus drivers or at the high school guidance office, and must be returned to the guidance office by April 30. The chosen winner will be awarded a check for $500 at the USC awards program in May.
The Youth Steering Committee of Upper St. Clair will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 21, in the USC Rec Center. This meeting will be a general voting session.

Kindergarten registration for incoming Upper St. Clair kindergarten students and their families will be held mid-March at each of the district’s three elementary schools. Appointments, which last approximately 20 minutes, will be scheduled between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on each of the registration days. Families will be able to schedule their registration appointment online in early February. Registration days are as follows: Baker Elementary, March 13 and 23; Eisenhower Elementary, March 14 and 20; Streams Elementary, March 15 and 21. Registration packets, containing all of the necessary registration forms, will be available for pick-up at the elementary schools beginning Feb. 20. Students registering for kindergarten must be 5 years of age by Sept. 1 to be enrolled for the 2018-19 school year.
