At Center Presbyterian Church, McMurray, worship begins at 11 a.m. on Sundays. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m.

At Peters Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church (meeting at St. David’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 905 E. McMurray Road, Venetia), Bible Study is held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Beinhauers Community Room, McMurray. The evening begins with a meal followed by a study of the book “Simple Church” by Thom S. At Ruthfred Lutheran Church, 3401 South Park Road, Bethel Park, Wednesday Lenten services are held weekly, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Regular Sunday services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with Sunday school for all ages beginning at 9:45.

At South Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Park, a new session of Grief Share will meet from 10 a.m. to noon or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, through April 12. This Bible-based support group consists of DVD teaching followed by time for discussion and sharing. Registration is $15 and includes a workbook.

• Alpha Course, 6 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays, through March 30. A free dinner is provided, with DVD teaching and small group discussion to introduce the basics of Christianity. Call to register for this 10-week class.

At Temple Emanuel of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, the Board of Trustees announces the appointment of Rabbi Donald Rossoff, D.D., R.J.E., as interim senior rabbi of the South Hills Reform congregation. Rossoff’s contract was approved at a congregational meeting held Feb. 11. Rossoff will begin his year-long tenure at Temple Emanuel July 1. Outgoing Senior Rabbi Mark Mahler, who served the congregation for 38 years, will retire June 30. Over the next several months, Temple Emanuel will begin searching for a settled rabbi and trust that Rossoff’s experience assisting synagogues in transition will prove invaluable. Rossoff will temporarily move to the South Hills with his wife Francine, a registered nurse. The couple has four adult children: Marc, Jenna, Ilana and Nathaniel. He served as interim rabbi at Barnert Temple in Franklin Lake, N.J. (2017-18), Temple Beth Am in Framingham, Mass. (2016-17), and the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation in Evanston, Ill. (2015-16). He served as senior rabbi of Temple B’Nia Or in Morristown, N.J. from 1990-2015. Additionally, he authored the children’s book, “A Perfect Prayer.”
