Creative Café

Upper St. Clair Public Library will host Creative Café, a new group to help support people’s creative endeavors. The group will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. the first Friday of each month, starting Feb. 2. The group creates a positive space to talk about what participants create, what creativity means for them and how they overcome negative emotions. Coin show

South Hills Coin Club will hold its 58th Anniversary Coin Show Feb. 3 and 4 at Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South, across from South Hills Village. Dinner for a Dollar

Community of Christ Church, 3472 South Park Road, Bethel Park, will hold Dinner for a Dollar from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 8. The menu includes spaghetti, bread and rolls, garden salad and desserts. Dinner dance

Elks Lodge 2213, located in Bethel Park, will hold a Sweet Hearts Dinner Dance on Feb. 9. Appetizers will be served at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 and dancing to the music of Nite Star. Auditions

The Carnegie Performing Arts Center will hold auditions on Feb. 10 for the adventure play “Peter Pan.” Performances will be at the newly renovated Andrew Carnegie Music Hall in April. Ages 5 to 12 are invited to audition at 10 a.m., ages 13 and up are invited to audition at 11 a.m., at the studios of the Carnegie Performing Arts Center, 150 East Main Street in Carnegie. Paint and sip

An evening of painting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10, at McMurray Art League Studio, located in the McDowell Shops on Washington Road in McMurray. Day trip

Baldwin United Methodist Church will hold a day trip to historic Zoar Village on May 31. Enjoy dinner at Dutch Valley Restaurant then a 40-minute ride on the Ohio and Erie Canalway on the Monticello III Canal Boat. Final stop will be Roscoe Village, which dates back to the mid-1800s. Babyccino

Outdoor classroom

Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold Homeschool Outdoor Classroom: Animal Architecture at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at Shelter 4, Mingo Creek Park. Search for a variety of animal architecture, including bird’s nests, insect egg cases and galls, and more. Dress for the weather and moderate hiking. Cooking classes

Blueberry’s Cooking Club, McDonald, offers after school cooking and weekend classes for children ages 4-10, featuring Valentine’s red-themes, games, coloring, crafts and cooking. Upcoming classes include:

• Feb. 9, from 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. — make valentine heart cookies, plus homemade pizza. Cost is $45.

• Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – homemade turkey meatballs with pasta and marinara sauce, parmesan bread sticks and red velvet cupcake. Cost is $45.

• Feb. 21, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. – homemade ravioli and sauce, and wholegrain oat bars. Cost is $50.

• Feb. 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – hamburgers with homemade bun, curly fries, and red and white chocolate chip cookies. Cost is $45.

• Feb. 28, 5 to 7 p.m. – raspberry filled thumbprints and chocolate cinnamon brownie bites, plus chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. Cost is $45.
