1. Unity Presbyterian Church, Green Tree, will hold a Blessing of the Animals from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 9. Blessings of song, prayer and scripture to the animals will be offered at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. This free “all-pets” event welcomes dogs on unretractable leashes, cats and all small animals in secured carriers or cages. All pets should be current on their vaccinations and must remain with their owners at all times. Representatives from Animal Advocates, Animal Lifeline, Camp Bow Wow, Foster Cat, Inc., Humane Animal Rescue Wildlife Center, Paws and Hearts Pet Ministry and South Hills Pet Rescue will also participate. There will be a photo booth for people and their pets, Kona Ice Pittsburgh truck, and “Mike the Balloon Guy & Company” will entertain. Pets attending a blessing will receive a commemorative “Certificate of Blessing.” The church, formerly Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church, is located at 1146 Greentree Road. 2. Coalition for Leadership, Education and Advocacy for Recovery (CLEAR) will hold the free event “Tackling Addiction from the Top Down” on June 13, at St. Paul’s Church, 1066 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Registration and breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m. The recovery speaker and presentation will follow from 9 to 10:30. RSVP to karenplavan@gmail.com.

3. Delay the Disease, a fitness class for those managing Parkinson’s disease, is held from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursdays, through June 14, at Westminster Recreation & Outreach Center (WROC), at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair. This Parkinson’s specific fitness program is designed to proactively minimize tremors and improve flexibility, stability, balance and strength. 5. Upper St. Clair Public Library will host Creative Café, a group to help support people’s creative endeavors. The group meets from 2 to 3 p.m. the first Friday of each month.
