Garden club
Giant Oaks Garden Club will meet at 11:15 a.m. June 7, at St. David’s Anglican Church, 905 E. McMurray Road, Venetia, for its monthly luncheon meeting and program. Networking social
The Mt. Lebanon Chapter of Women’s Business Networking will hold a Summer Networking Social from 8 to 9 a.m. June 12 at Panera Bread in the Galleria of Mt. Lebanon. Women entrepreneurs and professionals are invited to attend this complimentary meeting to learn more about the chapter. Some of the open business categories include: printer, florist, attorney, chiropractor, photographer, nutrition, business services, dentist, massage therapist, seamstress and jewelry representative. Women’s club
The South Hills Women’s Club is accepting requests for funding from local non-profit 501c charitable and community organizations. The organization must provide service in Allegheny or Washington counties, have IRS 501c status and receive no federal funds for the specific project. Applicants can submit their name, organization’s name, contact number, brief description of their work and who they help and how they would like to use the money we will raise for their organization. The request should be sent to the South Hills Women’s Club, P.O. Box 13184, Pittsburgh, PA 15243. The deadline for submission for funding requests is June 15, 2018.

Live theater

Rose Day
The Pittsburgh Rose Society and the Garden Club of McKeesport will sponsor the fifth annual “Rose Day at Renzie” from 1 to 4 p.m. June 9, at the Renziehausen Park Rose Garden, which features approximately 1,200 rose bushes in full bloom. There will be guided tours of the garden and various workshops. Rosarians will be available in the afternoon to answer questions. The event is free, and complimentary refreshments will be provided. Free film screening
Churchill Pictures, a Pittsburgh-based film production company, will hold a Cast and Crew Screening for its new Pittsburgh filmed and produced SAG indy feature film “The Unsung” at 7:30 p.m. June 12, at the Oaks Theater in Oakmont. Summer festival
St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, will hold its annual summer festival from 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, June 14, 15 and 16. Grand Raffle is $10,000 (drawing on June 17). There will be games, rides, entertainment, theme baskets, bingo, book sale and bake sale. Featured dinners will be chicken on Thursday, fish on Friday and pasta on Saturday. Homemade ethnic favorites, festival foods and funnel cakes will be available each night.
Summer camps
YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh offers Camp Voyager Summer Day Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11-Aug. 24 at North Strabane Park, Canonsburg, for children ages 6-15. Before and after care is available at no additional charge. Camps focus on having fun while learning and building self-esteem and social skills through new activities. Weekly themes vary. Theatre class/show
Alabaster Children’s Theatre summer musical theatre class and show will begin rehearsals on June 11, at St. David’s Church, 905 E. McMurray Road, Venetia. Greek food festival
Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Mt. Lebanon, will hold its 46th annual Greek Food Festival from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 12-15. The event will include hand-prepared Greek delicacies, live music and traditional folk dancing, plus shopping in the marketplace. Entry is free, and parking is available in the church lot or via a free shuttle from the Galleria across the street. Strawberry Social
Bethany Lutheran Church, 5303 Madison Ave., Bethel Park, will host its annual Strawberry Social from 5 to 7 p.m. June 13, in Fellowship Hall. The menu will include ham barbeque, bratwurst and hot dogs, homemade side salads, strawberry shortcake and beverage. Camp Healing Hearts
Family Hospice and Palliative Care offers Camp Healing Hearts, a free one-day bereavement camp for grieving children and their family members, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Carlow University. Staffed by licensed professionals from Family Hospice and trained volunteers, this free camp is offered for children ages 6 to 12 and their parents/guardians who have experienced the death of a loved one. A continental breakfast and lunch are included. Preregistration is required. Applications must be completed by June 15. Divorce workshop
A Divorce Workshop for Women will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 9, at Southminister Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. This four-hour workshop will explore the legal, financial and emotional issues of divorce to educate on what to expect and how to prepare. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of how to get through the divorce process with the least amount of cost, conflict and collateral damage.
