Strawberry Social

Bethany Lutheran Church, 5303 Madison Ave., Bethel Park, will host its annual Strawberry Social from 5 to 7 p.m. June 13, in Fellowship Hall. PHLF tours

Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation offers the following tours and workshops:

• Free tours at the Old Allegheny County Jail Museum, 440 Ross Street, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, June 25. Tours take 30 minutes. Last tour begins at 12:30. Reservations are not required.

• Downtown’s Best: Special Places and Spaces, 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Thursdays, June 14, 21 and 28, rain or shine. View more than 25 architectural landmarks, interiors and urban spaces. Learn how Pittsburgh developed from a military outpost in the 18th century to a walkable and livable 21st-century city. Cost is $20 per person; advance paid registrations are required.

• Point Breeze Walking Tour, 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 20. Tour is limited to 30 people and will be repeated Sept. 22. Cost is $10 for PHLF members and $35 for non-members (includes one-year complimentary membership in PHLF). Advance paid reservations are required by June 15.

Dinner for a Dollar

Community of Christ Church, 3472 South Park Road, Bethel Park, will hold Dinner for a Dollar from 5 to 7 p.m. June 14. The menu will include spaghetti, bread and rolls, garden salad and desserts. Summer festival

St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, will hold its annual summer festival from 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, June 14, 15 and 16. Grand Raffle is $10,000 (drawing on June 17). There will be games, rides, entertainment, theme baskets, bingo, book sale and bake sale. Featured dinners will be chicken on Thursday, fish on Friday and pasta on Saturday. Homemade ethnic favorites, festival foods and funnel cakes will be available each night.

Greek food festival

Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Mt. Lebanon, will hold its 46th annual Greek Food Festival from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through June 15. The event will include hand-prepared Greek delicacies, live music and traditional folk dancing, plus shopping in the marketplace. Entry is free, and parking is available in the church lot or via a free shuttle from the Galleria across the street. Free movie

Peters Township Parks & Recreation offers Friday Night Flicks, a free outdoor movie night at Peterswood Park Amphitheater. On June 15, watch “Paddington 2” (PG). All movies begin at dusk. Bring a blanket or chair. Future Friday Night Flicks include: “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (PG-13) on July 20, “Coco” (PG) on Aug. 24 and “Hocus Pocus” (PG) with a witch costume contest on Oct. 12.

June Jamboree

Crossroads Ministries, Finleyville, will hold June Jamboree at 6 p.m. June 15. There will be live music, inflatables, airbrush tattoos, carnival-style games, Gaga Ball, snow cones, kids’ karaoke and more. Meadowcroft event

Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village will host the 21st Annual Meadowcroft Atlatl Competition from noon to 5 p.m. June 16. Visitors of all ages can learn proper atlatl technique from Meadowcroft staff and try out the prehistoric spear-thrower for themselves, then compete for high score in men’s, women’s and youth divisions. Presented annually in partnership with the World Atlatl Association, the Meadowcroft Atlatl Competition will feature some of the world’s top atlatl competitors. This year’s event will include a seven-time world champion in the men’s division and his son, a four-time youth division champion who holds the record as youngest atlatl champion. Admission is $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens, and $7 for students and children ages 6-17. Children age 5 and under and History Center members get in free. YMCA events

Spencer Y, Bethel Park, will host a preschool summer day camp from 2 to 4:30 p.m. June 18-Aug. 17, for potty-trained campers ages 3-5.
