Bethel Park Lions Club’s Cash and Prize Bash, its annual spring fundraiser, will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. March 10 at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Avenue. Tickets at $50 include catering by Cyd West, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert and drinks. There will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, $2,000 in cash prizes and art sale display. The Youth Steering Committee of Upper St. Clair will hold a general session from 7 to 8 p.m. March 14, at the Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park, to discuss the strategic plan for the committee moving into the future. Topics for discussion will include: mission and vision review of the committee, programming, student outreach activities, and brainstorming for future state of committee.
In conjunction with the Bethel Park HIgh School production of “Legally Blonde, the Musical,” the Bethel Park Education Foundation will be raffling off autographed, framed posters from the casts of the Civic Light Opera productions of “Kinky Boots” and “An American in Paris.” Tickets are $2 for one and $5 for three and can be purchased at Evey True Value Hardware (5779 Library Road) or at Bethel Park High School (309 Church Road) March 14-17 during the high school musical. Proceeds go to the Bethel Park Education Foundation, a community-based, nonprofit organization whose goal is to support programs that promote quality education in the Bethel Park School District. Volunteers are needed for the Peters Township Parks & Recreation Bunny Hop and Egg Scramble, both of which will be held on March 24 in the Community Recreation Center and/or Peterswood Park Field 4 (depending on the weather). The McMurray Lions Club is selling high quality, heavy-duty vinyl trash bags in 30- and 33-gallon size for trash, and 18-gallon size for kitchen use. Brooms are available as well.
