Streams raises record amount for AHA

Students and staff at Streams Elementary School in the Upper St. Clair School District raised a record $7,514 to benefit the American Heart Association. “This year we collected $7,514, our largest amount since I have been coordinating Jump Rope for Heart,” Barb Rahr, physical education teacher, said. “Over the seven years, we have donated a total of $42,000 to the American Heart Association.” Students collected donations for Jump Rope for Heart while learning a variety of jump rope skills in their physical education classes. In addition, staff members participated in Wear Red for Women Day on Feb. 2. Pictured are the three students who raised the largest amount in contributors: Peter Mitchell, kindergarten; Madison Hahn, first grade; and Tyler Palucis, third grade.
