Morning preschool
John McMillan Preschool, Bethel Park, has very limited space available in its morning 3-day Four Year Old class and 4-day Pre-K class. With increased emphasis on pre-reading, math, science, writing and language skills through fun and engaging activities aligned with the PA Learning Standards for Early Childhood, each day will include free play and gross motor time. Alpha Omega Masters

Final plans for the annual Founders Day Dinner set for 4 p.m. April 19, at the Grand Concourse, will also be discussed.

Junque sale
St. Winifred Church, Mt. Lebanon, will hold its 48th Annual Junque Sale April 6 and 7, in Benedict Hall, 550 Sleepy Hollow Road. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday (bag sale begins at 11 a.m.). Admission is free. Refreshments will be available.

Reservations are now being taken for the April 7 Spring Craft Fair at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park. The event includes wide aisles for browsing, plenty of parking and free admission. Scholarship luncheon
Elizabeth Seton and Seton La Salle high schools will celebrate the 11th annual Women of Seton Legacy Scholarship Fund Luncheon at 1 p.m. April 15, at Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South, Bethel Park. Casting calls
The Community College of Allegheny County will host casting calls in April for paid background work on “Mindhunter” season two, the popular Netflix series. The series will be shot in the Pittsburgh area throughout the summer and fall. Individuals from all age groups are encouraged to attend. CCAC will host three days of casting calls: the CCAC community can audition at the Allegheny Campus from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 2, in the Foerster Student Services Center Auditorium; the general public and CCAC community can audition at the Allegheny Campus from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 3, in the Foerster Student Services Center Auditorium; and the CCAC community can audition at the South Campus from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 9, at the South Campus Tiger’s Lair, Building A (A309). No preparation is required. All individuals will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. CCAC Allegheny Campus is located at 808 Ridge Ave., Pittsburgh. CCAC South Campus is located at 1750 Clairton Road (Route 885), West Mifflin.
Preschool program
Washington County Department of Parks & Recreation will hold the preschool program “Spider’s Tea Party,” for children ages 3-5. Two sessions will be offered, at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 and Wednesday, April 4. Participants should meet at the Park Office at Mingo Creek County Park. Dress for the weather. Auditions
Little Lake Theatre Company, 500 Lakeside Drive, Canonsburg, will hold auditions for children (age 6-18) for its 2018 season. Auditions will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. April 6, and from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7. Children should prepare to sing a capella 32 bars of an up tempo song of their choice. Princess tea party
The sixth annual Princess Tea Party to benefit CureSearch, a U.S.-based nonprofit foundation that searches for cures for children’s cancer, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on April 7, at Bishop Canevin School-Gym, 2700 Morange Road. A $25 donation per princess (ages 2-9, adults are free) includes: one door prize ticket, hair styled with choice of hair accessory, makeup and a jewel from the “Queen’s Jewels”; make-your-own fairy princess wand, nails painted, tea (pink lemonade), tea sandwiches and cookie. Talent show
Members of the South Hills Chorale will perform a talent show from 6 to 9 p.m. April 7, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills, 1240 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. There will be food, beer, wine and soft drinks, and a selection of themed baskets for auction. Admission is $10 at the door.
Bus trip
Baldwin United Methodist Church will hold a trip to Memphis and Nashville Aug. 20-25. Day one includes a complimentary dinner and overnight stay at the Drury Hotel. Day two travel to Memphis and stay at the Four Points Sheraton Memphis East for two nights. Day three begins with a city sightseeing tour including the Duck March at the Peabody Hotel, Sun Records guided studio tour and Elvis’ Graceland, followed by dinner at Corky’s BBQ. Day four, travel to Nashville and visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, then stay at the Gaylord Opryland Resort for two nights and dinner at Cascades Restaurant. Day five includes a guided sightseeing tour with a local singer/songwriter and tour of Andrew Jackson’s home “Hermitage” before dinner and the Grand Ole Opry show.
