Peters Township Parks & Recreation’s Friday Night Live! Teen Talent Show will be held at 6 p.m. May 11 at the amphitheater in Peterswood Park for ages 12-18. Prizes will be awarded, including an opportunity to open for one of the concerts or events this summer. The Third Annual Refugee Health and Wellness Resource Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 at the Kingsley Association on Frankstown Road in the East End. The event will include information and more than 40 vendors, free food, children’s activities, demonstrations and more. Language interpretation will be provided in more than a dozen languages including Arabic, Swahili, Nepali and more.

Bethel Park School District will hold kindergarten orientations for the 2018-2019 school year on the following dates: Benjamin Franklin Elementary, 9:45 a.m. May 11, call 412-854-8751; Abraham Lincoln Elementary, 9:30 to 11 a.m. May 16, call 412-854-8618; William Penn Elementary, 9:30 a.m. May 17, call 412-854-8522. Children who will be age 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2018, are eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall. Parents who have not yet registered their children for kindergarten must do so in advance of their child’s kindergarten orientation date. Parents should contact their child’s school to make arrangements.

Upper St. Clair Community Day and Howard Hannah announce the 21st annual “Hottest Dog” Contest to benefit The Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund. Open to USC residents only, the contest will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. May 19, at the stage area. Prizes will be awarded in five categories: Cutest Puppy Contest (up to 4 months), Best Pet Trick Contest, Best Tail Wag Contest, Best Costume Contest and Pet & Owner Look-a-like Contest. All dogs will receive a treat for participating. Entry fee is $5.
