Stage 62 presents ‘Guys and Dolls’
Stage 62, the theater company in residence at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall in Carnegie, presents “Guys and Dolls” this month.
Set in Depression-era New York City, the show centers around two big-city gamblers and the women who love them. Lovable rapscallion Nathan Detroit is trying to raise enough cash to set up the biggest craps game in town, while Adelaide, his fiancée of 14 years and a headliner at the Hot Box Club, worries that they will never tie the knot. To raise the money for the game, Nathan bets charismatic fellow gambler Sky Masterson that he cannot convince Sarah Brown, a straight-laced mission worker, to join Sky for a dinner date in Havana, Cuba. Things heat up as the unlikely pair begin to fall for each other while Nathan and the gamblers prepare for the highest-stakes game yet.
Performances run Nov. 8-11 and 15-18. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. To purchase, visit www.stage62.org or call 412-429-6262, option 1.
