Vendor/craft show
Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, will hold a vendor and craft show from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 1. There will be a continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments and a cookie bar. Admission is free. Proceeds benefit PrimeTime Adult Care, a nonprofit specializing in medical supervision and mental and physical stimulation of the frail elderly, those with functional impairments, and/or those with Alzheimer’s disease. Avant-Garde show
The 2018 Pittsburgh Winter Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1, at Teamsters Local Union 249 Banquet Hall, 4701 Butler St., Pittsburgh. Admission is $3 for adults. Children under 12 are free. The Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show line donates a portion of all its proceeds to local charities. This year’s Pittsburgh event will benefit Girls on the Run.

Toy drive
Chabad of the South Hills Annual Chanukah Toy Drive for hospitalized and underprivileged children is under way. New, unwrapped toys are being collected. Ideas include puzzles, games, art supplies, Legos, Duplos, dolls, play food and kitchen items, and baby toys. Toys can be dropped off between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Nov. 30, at Chabad of the South Hills, 1701 McFarland Road, Mt. Lebanon. Volunteer event
Coalition for Leadership, Education & Advocacy for Recovery (CLEAR) is looking for volunteers to help prepare one million meals for the hungry in the community. The Meals to Hope Packing Event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 28, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. An all-faith worship service will begin at 9 in Hall B followed by the packing event at 10 in Hall A. Enter and check in through the East Lobby doors.
USC pep rally
The Upper St. Clair School District will host its Winter Community Pep Rally at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 in the high school gymnasium. The event is free and open to the community. The free event will include a variety of competitions among the Upper St. Clair High School’s winter varsity sports teams including girls’ and boys’ basketball, wrestling, rifle, girls’ and boys’ swimming and diving, ice hockey and indoor track. In addition, there will be performances by the marching band, the USC drum line, cheerleaders, dance and hip-hop teams, as well as an appearance by the panther mascot. Art exhibit
(DATE CHANGE) At FrameHouse & Jask Gallery in Lawrenceville, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP) presents its next member exhibition: Off the Wall, a show juried and curated by Jill Larson featuring the work of 39 AAP members. Visitors may also purchase the work and bring it home with them in the same visit. All artwork is priced at $500 or less, and the exhibition features paintings, prints, ceramics and photography. Theater auditions
Little Lake Theatre Company will hold auditions for adult actors (age 18-plus) for the first four productions of its 2019 season. Auditions will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 1, and 5:15 to 10 p.m. Dec. 2. All auditions will be cold readings from the scripts. Free concert
St. Germaine Church, Bethel Park, will hold a concert in preparation for the Advent season and featuring the choirs from St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin, St. Germaine, Nativity and St. Valentine churches. Chanukah Festival
The Annual South Hills Lights Community Chanukah Festival will begin at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3, with a Giant Menorah Lighting and Mega Gelt on the corner of Potomac and Belrose avenues. A Chanukah Musical Laser Light Show and festivities at the Hollywood Theater on Potomac Avenue will follow.
