1. Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church will hold its Autumn Food Fair and Yiayia Joan’s Attic Treasures (flea market) from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 3-5, at the Community Center located at 123 Gilkeson Road, Mt. Lebanon (across from the Galleria). There will be Greek dancing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Enjoy homemade Greek foods by Holy Cross Philoptochos Society. Takeout is available in the Community Center food line – no fax, phone or online ordering. Cash or credit cards accepted. 2. Bethel Park High School will host its 51st annual Marching Band Festival at 7 p.m. Oct. 6, at Bethel Park Stadium, 309 Church Road. Gates open at 6. There will be performances by marching bands from South Park, Laurel Highlands, Steel Valley and South Fayette high schools, as well as the Bethel Park High School Black Hawk Marching Band and the Drum Line. Tickets are $6 if purchased in advance from any marching band member. Tickets purchased at the door the night of the festival will be $8.

3. Wanted: musicians, songwriters. and poets, as well as audience members to attend the “Artists At Atonement Open Mic” set for 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 7, at Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Ave, Carnegie. This is a BYOB event. Performers should arrive 20 minutes early to sign up.

4. Pennsylvania Women Work will offer New Choices, a free career development course, from 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 11, 16, 18, 23, 30 and Nov. 8, 13, 15, 20 and 27, at Whitehall Public Library Community Room, 100 Borough Park Drive. The course includes: job or education placement assistance, professional communication certification, identifying your gifts and talents, help creating an impactful resume, interview skill building, confidence-building and conflict management training, effective time and money management strategies and understanding workplace culture and creating a good “fit.” Participants must possess a high school education or the equivalent, speak and write English well enough to secure a job, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. 5. An immediate opening has been announced on the Peters Township Sanitary Authority. The board meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month.
