Army women meet

Are you a woman who has served in the Army, National Guard, Reserves, Army Nurse Corps, WAC or WAAC? The Pittsburgh Keystone Chapter 120 of the Women’s Army Corp Veterans’ Association, Army Women United is a group of Army women from all branches who work together to serve the local area veterans, especially female veterans. The 2018 Pittsburgh Walk for Apraxia event will be held on Oct. 13, at the Highmark Stadium to benefit children with apraxia of speech. Trivia fundraiser

ACHIEVA, a local nonprofit that provides lifelong support for people with disabilities and their families, will hold its fourth annual “ACHIEVA N’at” band and trivia night fundraiser, featuring Marc Reisman and the Strong Way Band, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 16, at Foxtail (formerly Diesel Club Lounge), South Side. Cash Bash

Saint Elizabeth Elementary School’s Hallo-Boo Cash Bash will take place on Oct. 20, in the school gym, off of Route 51. The Halloween theme continues, with a prize for the best female and male costumes. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door. If all tickets sell, $10,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. Goat yoga

Have U Herd Goatscaping and Jen’s Yoga Zen will offer a NamastHay Goat Yoga class at 2 p.m. Oct. 20, at Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, Washington. A herd of over 30 goats will interact with participants in an outdoor setting. Space is limited. Tickets are $20 each with children ages 4-10 free with an adult admission. Purse Bash

Dinner for a Dollar

Community of Christ Church, Bethel Park, will hold Dinner for a Dollar from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 11. The menu will include spaghetti, bread and rolls, garden salad and desserts. Donations of $1 per person or $3 per family are accepted, but not required. No take out will be available, including desserts. Holocaust exhibit

Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh opens its newest exhibit, Stitching History from the Holocaust, at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16. The multimedia exhibit will feature fashion designs and explore the lives of Czech couple Paul and Hedy Strnad and their failed attempt to escape the onslaught of Nazi Germany.
